Why Small Moves from Hawaiʻi to the Mainland Are Hard — and How EZ Move Helps
Smaller moves from Hawaiʻi can be tough. Most movers focus on full households, which can leave studio or apartment moves overpriced and hard to book—especially during the busy summer season when capacity is tight. With EZ Move, you get a DIY-friendly option: pack your own boxes, and we handle the shipping with no seasonal shortages. That means flat-rate pricing, reliable scheduling, and professional service—without the stress or inflated costs.
Pack it up at our place, and we’ll do the rest
EZ Move does require you to bring whatever you want to ship to a Royal Hawaiian Movers location, you can bring it to our locations on Oahu, Maui, Kauai, or the Big Island. EZ Move can be door-to-door and door-to-port: if you wish for door-to-door we will help you arrange the moving from the port on the mainland
Here’s how it works:
Come to our location and pack your stuff – we require a minimum of 24 hours notice and we’ll have a crate ready for you.
You pay one flat rate for household goods –not on the weight of your shipment.
We handle all the shipping logistics from Hawaii to the final destination of your choice.
Get consistent and timely status updates on your shipment from your assigned Outbound Coordinator
Send valuables and more separately
While it’s a standalone solution designed for customers moving from Hawaii to the mainland on a budget, some customers also use an EZ Move crate in addition to our complete moving service.
For example, for delicate belongings they might feel more comfortable packing themselves, for items that they don’t need immediately upon moving (as EZ Move shipments take a little longer), etc.
Is EZ Move the Right Fit for You?
While there are no weight limits, your shipment will be limited by size based on the EZ Move option you select (If that’s not enough space, you can request additional crates — there’s no limit on those!)
Shipping times are longer than our standard moving timeframes, with transit time being approximately 6-8 weeks.
EZ Move service is offered Monday-Fridays only, excluding major holidays, and loading times (crate packing times) are from 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
