What Is the Difference Between Palletized and Crated?

Crates are essentially wooden boxes. Because they have four sides, a top, and a bottom, they offer freight maximum protection in transit and in storage.

In contrast, a pallet is essentially a base on which freight rests. Because it lacks the four walls and top of a crate, it can offer less complete defense against damage. However, pallets can be a more budget-friendly solution. Additionally, since pallets are usually placed in a container or a trailer for transit, they may not need the full protection of a crate, depending on the cargo.
